Rachael Leahcar, a lovely 18 year old Adelaide girl, and former student at Brighton High School, has reached the final of Channel 9’s Voice competition, together with Karise Eden, Darren Percival and Sarah De Bono.
Her cheerfulness, and determination not to let medical adversity limit her singing success has endeared her to the Australian public. Rachael has a progressive genetic degenerative condition involving the photoreceptors of the retina, I understand, known as retinitis pigmentosa. She is legally blind!
But it was her enchanting rendition of Nights in White Satin that won her the vote to be one of the four finalist next Sunday.
